Similar to the Outlook Mobile Service, it is also possible to send SMS using Lox24 with SharePoint 2010 or 2013. This way, you can send SharePoint SMS instead of an email. With the kind help of a customer, I can today introduce you to the instructions for setting up the SMS service under Microsoft SharePoint.

Step 1: Microsoft instructions

First, you should follow the instructions for setting up the SMS service from Microsoft. Then, perform the following steps. Be sure to use the following parameters when setting up:

URL of the text messaging service (SMS)/: ../../api/msoffice.php

Username/: Set it as the mobile phone number in your account under „Settings“ and „Outlook Mobile Service“

Password/:

Step 2: Install certificates

Normally, you only install one certificate. In our case, however, you must install the entire certificate tree up to the root certificate.

Download the following certificates down and install them in sequence: thawte Primary Root CA, Thawte DV SSL CA and Lox24

Select „Copy to File…“ and the “Certifacte Export Wizard” will open. Repeat this for all three certificates:

Next > Next > choose path to store file (i.E. Desktop) > Next > Finish -> Message „export was successful.”

Start “mmc.exe” (C:WindowsSystem32mmc.exe).

Select “File -> Add / Remove Snap-in”.
Select the certificate and click “add >” Select “Computer Account” -> Next > and select “Local computer”. Finish and OK.

Expand the tree “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” > “Certificates”.

Right-click on “Certificates” and select “All Tasks > Import…”.

The “Certificate Import Wizard” opens; proceed as follows: Next > select the previously saved file > Next > Next > Finish

Repeat the entire process for the remaining two certificates.
