Access in the text, message in the subject
The classic variant: You send to the @email2sms.lox24.eu number or to a fixed address. The access details, shipping method and sender are listed in a line in the text, and the message in the subject line. This works if your system can freely format the email text.

What is Mail2SMS from LOX24?
Mail2SMS is an interface from LOX24 that converts emails into SMS or phone calls. You send an email to a special address, and LOX24 converts the content into SMS. For this, your system only needs the ability to send emails.
Which of the two variants should I choose?

Which part of the email is being converted into SMS?
In variant A, you choose it yourself: subject and text; only the subject or only the text. In variant B, the subject becomes the SMS message, the text contains the tax line.
How long should the message be?
Bei Variante B bis zu 1.520 Zeichen. Längere Nachrichten werden automatisch auf mehrere SMS verteilt. Bei Variante A legen Sie mit max_sms_parts fest, wie viele SMS-Teile höchstens entstehen dürfen.
Is my API key secure in the address?
The address can appear in mail logs or address books. For variant A, therefore, use the separate Email2SMS API key from LOX24, which you can create again at any time. In variant B, the key is in the text instead of in the address.
Why isn't my SMS coming through?
Common causes are forwarded emails that the gateway does not process, an HTML text in variant B, or a typing error in the address. In variant B, you receive an error email when the tax line is incorrect.
Can recipients reply to the SMS?
Yes, in two ways. LOX24 sends answers to Economy SMS messages to Germany and Switzerland to you for free via email. With a dedicated inbound phone number starting at €29 per month, you receive all answers via email, webhook, or in your LOX24 inbox. This way, for example, you can receive an alarm via SMS reply.
How much does an SMS via Mail2SMS cost?
The normal prices of the LOX24 price list apply, excluding any additional fees. A text message to Germany costs between 6.9 and 8.0 cents, depending on the shipping method and tariff level.
