01 · BACKGROUND

The Problem

The operator has vending machines in many remote locations, such as parking lots and industrial areas. The machines have no mobile internet, and reception is often too weak for it anyway. Empty slots and faults were only noticed on the next service round, sometimes days later.

02 · SOLUTION

How SMS Solves the Problem

Each machine has a simple SIM card and sends its stock level, faults, and temperature as a short SMS to a dedicated inbound number. LOX24 forwards every message directly to the backend via HTTP request. There, the status appears immediately in the dispatch overview.

The Benefits

BENEFIT 01

No data plan needed

A weak mobile signal is enough to send an SMS. No data plan or internet connection is required.
BENEFIT 02

Status directly in your system

Every message lands in the software automatically, so nobody has to type anything in. If needed, the SMS can also be sent to you by email.
BENEFIT 03

Targeted service rounds

Before setting out, technicians can see which machines are empty or faulty. They only drive to the places where there is really something to do.
