Passengers are informed via SMS.<!--more--><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While a number of flights are being cancelled in Frankfurt, Lufthansa sends out more than 6,000 SMS messages daily. Passengers who provided their mobile phone number during booking or registered it accordingly with Miles-and-More will receive an SMS notification when flights are cancelled.<\/p>\n<p>With SMS, Lufthansa can inform its customers in a timely manner and ensure that the passengers read the information in time. This once again shows the advantage of SMS in contrast to emails. The information SMS reaches the customers much faster than an email that is often only read hours later or, at worst, ends up in the spam filter. With the SMS service, Lufthansa passengers also avoid the waiting line at the hotline. This increases customer satisfaction and Lufthansa can, despite the fees, offer better service to its customers. <a href=\"\/miguel\/en\/?page_id=1410\">SMS Gateway<\/a>, still save costs.<\/p>\n<p>It remains to be hoped that other airlines will set up an SMS service to inform their customers in case of doubt.
